Every Rowing Precision device is fully waterproof. Four rules keep it that way for seasons — and they are the conditions of the two-year warranty.
1. Dry the USB-C port before you charge
The port is a sealed connector rated IP67, so water cannot get past it into the device. Salt on the contacts is different: dried salt plus charging current corrodes any connector, and that is not covered by the warranty. Never charge a wet port — if in doubt, let it dry.
2. Use the silicone plug
The device is fully waterproof with or without it. The plug is for the port: it keeps sand, grit and salt out of the connector so it is clean and dry when you charge. Keep it in whenever you are not charging.
3. After salt water, rinse the USB-C port
Salt left to dry in the connector is what corrodes it. Pull the plug, rinse the port with fresh water, and let the device air-dry fully before you charge or put the plug back. Never store it wet, and bring it indoors when not in use.
4. Cracked, or water inside? Stop
Stop using the device and do not charge it — a damaged cell can catch fire. Contact us right away; units returned promptly can usually be repaired. Scuffs on coloured housings are cosmetic only.
Heat & sun
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, and never leave a device in a hot car — cabin temperatures can exceed safe battery limits. Charge between 0 °C and 45 °C, and store somewhere cool and dry.
